INGREDIENTS

Black Beans Dranied And Rinsed 1 Can (16 Ounce)
Green Bell Pepper Diced 1/2 (Half)
Onion Cut Into Wedges 1/2 (Half)
Onion Cut Into Rings 1 1/2
Garlic Peeled 3 Cloves
Chilli Powder 1 Tbsp
Cumin 1 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Thai Or Hot Sauce 1 Tsp
Bread Crumps 1/2 Cup
Tomato Sliced Into Rings 1 1/2
Lettuce 5-6 Leaflets
Burgerbuns 4
HOME MADE BLACK BEAN VEGGIE BURGUR

Cook time : 20 minutes
Serves : 4

METHOD:

  • If grilling, preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil a sheet of aluminum foil. If baking, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), and lightly oil a baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, mash black beans with a fork until thick and pasty.
  • In a food processor, finely chop bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Then stir into mashed beans.
  • In a small bowl, stir together, chili powder, cumin, and chili sauce.
  • Stir the Sauce mixture into the mashed beans. Mix in bread crumbs until the mixture is sticky and holds together. Divide mixture into four patties.
  • If grilling, place patties on foil, and grill about 8 minutes on each side. If baking, place patties on baking sheet, and bake about 10 minutes on each side.
  • Once the patties are ready, place the pattie, sliced tomatoes, onion and the lettuce in between the Burgerbun.
  • Serve immediately, preferably with some fries or chips on the side.
